“I choose optimism. I choose kindness. I look to the future and see only possibility.

And I agree wholeheartedly with Chris Anderson that ‘ideas change everything.’ We’ve seen it and lived it for more than 60 years — the idea that a pediatric children’s research hospital could treat kids of every race, every ethnicity and without consideration of their family’s financial means. The idea that research and treatments developed here could and should be shared with doctors and scientists around the world toward one end: eradicating childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

It was a bold idea Danny Thomas had and one that has changed the world for hundreds of thousands.

I look forward to reading Chris’ new book. And I continue to believe practicing generosity and kindness — in everyday life and in online sharing — can be a call to action and a global force for good.”
