Patela Care Foundation (PCF) commemorates INTERNATIONAL CHILDHOOD CANCER DAY February 15th, 2024.

Patela Care Foundation, an award-winning NGO joins the global collaborative campaign in promoting childhood cancer awareness, advocacy and expressing support for children and adolescents with cancer, the survivors and their families.

Several challenges contribute to Cancer Health Disparities in LMIC, one of which is poorly developed health insurance schemes. The financial toxicity of cancer can be a huge psychosocial burden on families. In commemoration of International Childhood Cancer Day 2024, The Patela Care Foundation Psycho Social Support Program, in her consistent manner for seven years now, donated chemotherapy drugs, pharmaceutical items and love gifts to children and family care givers receiving care at the Paediatric Oncology Wards, University College Hospital, Ibadan. This noteworthy initiative reduces the financial toxicity of cancer for some families and improves their psycho social well being.
Patela Care Foundation is committed to providing psychosocial support for individuals and families dealing with cancer diagnosis.

The Executive Director Dr Foluke Sarimiye and The Patela Care Foundation team were received by the University College Hospital Management Team: led by Prof Abiodun Jesse Otegbayo, represented by Dr Micheal Obaro (DCMAC, Research and Ethics); The Head of Paediatrics Department, Dr Adanze Asinobi; Head of Paediatric Oncology unit and Immediate Past President of Nigerian Society of Paediatric Oncology, Prof Biobele Brown, Deputy Director of Clinical Nursing DDN Oki, the paediatric gallant heroes and their family members, and other members of the Paediatrics Department.”
