Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu Highlights Challenges and Successes in Breast Cancer Treatment
Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, Chief Executive Officer at Medicaid Cancer Foundation, shared on LinkedIn:
“This Learning Tuesday With Dr Zsb was inspired by a close associate’s experience at Usman Danfodio University. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and has been on the journey – with successful results!
Radiotherapy is required for 50% to 60% of all cancer treatments. It requires medical expertise, and understanding the inherent psychological, emotional, and financial burdens. Sometimes, patients can wait up to eight months for radiotherapy due to equipment breakdown, long travel, workforce shortages, and other logistical delays.
The team at UDUTH have been a long favorite of mine because of their dedication, compassion and cost effectiveness.
Also, a big shout out to those who have supported this patient – kebbi state government.”
