Jennifer Bires: Exploring the Future of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy in Oncology
Jennifer Bires, Executive Director at Smith Center for Healing and the Arts, shared a post on LinkedIn by Monique Marino, Senior Director, Editorial Content and Strategy in the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC), adding:
“I was really delighted when I opened my email this morning to The New York Times piece on psychedelic-assisted therapy. If you have talked to me in the last year, you know I think psychedelic-assisted therapy has great potential for mental health care, but also great possibility for the existential distress that accompanies a cancer diagnosis for patients and caregivers.
The Association of Cancer Care Centers is always working to ensure clinicians have access to education on the most cutting-edge treatments, including whole-person and supportive care. Check out the piece below that Molly Kisiel interviewed me for about psychedelic-assisted therapy in oncology. If you’re curious and want to learn more, please reach out!”

‘We need new tools,’ says Jennifer Bires, MSW, LCSW, OSW-C.
‘For the right patients, psychedelic-assisted therapy can be one of the most meaningful tools we have.’
