Luca Arecco Supporting Marta Perachino’s Study on Pregnancy Safety in BRCA Carriers
Luca Arecco, Clinical Research Fellow at ESMO, shared a post on X by Marta Perachino, about recent article, adding:
“Following Marta Perachino presentation at ESMOBreast25, published in ESMO_Open results from the BRCABCY collaboration, demonstrating the feasibility and safety of having a pregnancy after a previous pregnancy-associated BC diagnosis. Thanks to Matteo Lambertini for leading this collaboration and to all the sites and co-authors involved in this project!”
Quoting Marta Perachino‘s post:
“Out now the results of our international multicenter study evaluating the safety of a subsequent pregnancy after a diagnosis of PrBC in BRCAm patients
- 10y cumulative incidence of pregnancy 36.6%
- no differences in DFS or OS based on subsequent pregnancy status.
No major concerns regarding maternal or fetal outcome with 75.9% of pregnancies delivered at term (75.9%) and without major obstetrical or fetal complications
Important evidence to support our daily counseling of young BRCA carriers diagnosed during pregnancy and still wishing to complete their family plans
Many thanks to the amazing team that made this international effort possible.”
