Guiding Families Through Childhood Cancer – The Dorcas Cancer Foundation
The Dorcas Cancer Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
”When a child is diagnosed with cancer, families are often overwhelmed unsure where to go, who to see, or what steps to take next.
From the very inception of The Dorcas Cancer Foundation, we recognized this gap and developed a Patient Navigation System to walk alongside families throughout the challenging journey of childhood cancer.
What began as a small support initiative has now grown into Nigeria’s largest pediatric patient navigation program, assisting numerous families each year to:
- Coordinate timely referrals
- Navigate diagnosis and treatment
- Access multidisciplinary care planning
The TDCF Navigation Program doesn’t just open doors to care; we stay with families at every stage, ensuring patients and caregivers are never left behind due to confusion, distance, or lack of information.
We facilitate care within Nigeria and also guide families seeking treatment abroad; always with one goal: to give every child a fighting chance.”
