Sami (Papacek) Mansfield: 45% of Cancer Deaths in the U.S. are Linked to Lifestyle-Related Factors
Sami (Papacek) Mansfield, Founder of Cancer Wellness for Life, shared on LinkedIn:
“Excited to share that we’ll be speaking at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine Annual Conference this fall!
‘When ‘I’ becomes ‘we,’ even illness becomes wellness.’
That’s the spirit we’re bringing to ACLM2025 – showing how collaboration, innovation, and community can transform cancer care, prevention, and survivorship. Excited to join some of my favorite colleagues, Urvi Shah and Paola Rossi, for this incredible opportunity.
Nearly 42% of cancer cases and 45% of cancer deaths in the U.S. are linked to lifestyle-related factors – things like excess weight, poor diet, and physical inactivity.
That means there’s a huge opportunity to change outcomes through lifestyle medicine.
In this session, we’ll highlight real-world examples of how we can:
- Integrate lifestyle medicine into cancer screening and prevention programs
- Use both “inside-out” (clinical care) and “outside-in” (community-driven) approaches
- Build a compelling business case for hospitals and health systems to adopt these strategies
- Create ripple effects that benefit not only patients but families and communities
Hope you can join us
