Trijn Israels: The ‘Missing Link’ to Improving Childhood Cancer Outcomes in LMICs
Trijn Israels, Project leader ‘Zero Abandonment from Start to Finish’ at CANCaRe Africa, shared Martin Heine‘s post on LinkedIn, adding:
“I really enjoyed teaching, learning and all the discussions during this course last week.
Implementation science just offers such a relevant approach and tools to improve implementation and thus for example sustainability and scaling up of effective interventions. In many ways often the ‘missing link’ to improving childhood cancer and other health outcomes in low-and middle-income countries.
Clinicians and programme leaders can learn how to start applying these principles ‘today’ also if they feel the whole science and TMFs (theories, models and frameworks) behind it still to be slightly overwhelming.”
Martin Heine, Assistant Professor in Implementation Science and Global Health at the Julius Centre, UMC Utrecht (NL), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“That’s a wrap! Today we concluded the third Utrecht Summer School on implementation science in global health.
Five intense days talking, learning and sharing about context, theory, models, frameworks, interventions, strategies, mechanisms, scaling up, and much more.
Special thanks to the international faculty that brought their knowledge, expertise and experience from across the world.”
