Christine Regan: How to Bridge Gaps in the Fight Against Cancer?
Christine Regan, Business Development Manager- Cancer Screening at mPATH Health, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Standing together in uncertain times for cancer and cancer research…
With federal funding for cancer research facing unprecedented uncertainty—including recently proposed 40% reductions to the National Institutes of Health budget, targeted cuts to cancer-specific programs- we need to be creative in how we work together to continue to fight cancer!
How do we bridge gaps?
Collaborative alliances like:
- American Association for Cancer Research
- Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN)
- National Comprehensive Cancer Network
- CancerX
Global research partnerships like:
- Global Cancer Consortium
- Global Colon Cancer Association
- Int’l Cancer Screening Network
- Alliance for Cancer Early Detection (ACED)
Innovative technologies and Early detection test companies like:
- mPATH Health
- Harbinger Health
- OncoLens
- Freenome
- OncoSwab
- Azra AI
We need the cancer and oncology community to come together to:
- Advocate for sustained investment in lifesaving research
- Share data, platforms and learnings across institutions and borders
- Support innovative platforms that have evidence-based solutions
- Network within the oncology community and share ideas, visions
We are all on this proverbial ‘boat’ of beating cancer, whether it is you or a loved one who faces this in their lifetime.
