How to Make Cancer Terms Easier to Understand?
IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center shared a post on LinkedIn, about Cancer Decoded, a new Instagram series that raises awareness and improves education around cancer by explaining complex terms in simple, relatable language.
They also published a Q and A with Mika Mokko, the creator of the series, highlighting her motivation and process behind the initiative.
“Making cancer terms easier to understand.
Medical jargon shouldn’t stand in the way of clarity – especially during a cancer diagnosis or treatment journey.
That’s why IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center launched Cancer Decoded, a year-long Instagram series that breaks down complex cancer terms into plain, relatable language.
Each weekly post focuses on a different concept – from diagnosis and treatment to research and survivorship – helping patients, caregivers, and advocates feel more informed and empowered.
This series supports the center’s broader mission to make cancer education more accessible, one term at a time.
Learn more about the purpose, structure and strategy behind the series.”
