Amazing group of young men and women who have walked through fire and come out whole – Akua Sarpong
We held our first survivors’ Alumini network. Amazing group of young men and women who have walked through fire and come out whole. These guys are the 1 out of 5 that survived. It was a humbling experience to hear their stories, their journeys with cancer and even the stigmatization that they continue to endure. The network is created to give them a support and also a chance to connect with each other. It’s also an opportunity to help with awareness to change the narrative on childhood cancer as being a death sentence. The best part for me was when they engaged the patients and mothers, telling them to stay strong and continue to fight the disease. The joy on the little faces was a sight to behold. This is just the beginning of greater things to come.
