Irini Agapidaki on the Critical Role of Prevention and the National Program ‘Prolamvano’
Hellenic Cancer Federation | ELLOK shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The Alternate Minister of Health, Irini Agapidaki, participated in the 2nd Synergies Forum on Cancer organized by ELLOK, emphasizing the critical role of prevention and the national program ‘Prolamvano‘.
As she pointed out:
‘Prolamvano is not a one-off initiative. It has already saved tens of millions of euros for EOPYY, both by providing preventive screenings in an organized manner and by reducing overprescription, thanks to its structured protocols that benefit everyone’.
She also highlighted the importance of digital transformation, which now allows Greece for the first time to have population-level data on screening, improving the targeting and effectiveness of public health interventions.
In closing, she underlined that a transformation of the National Health System is underway, with a key pillar being the integration of artificial intelligence, aiming to predict rather than simply react to citizens’ health needs.”
