Johanna Joyce: Immune-regulatory pathways in endothelial and mural cells for therapeutic blockade
Johanna Joyce, Professor at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, shared a post on X/Twitter:
“Thrilled our study on brain metastasis vasculature is out Cancer Cell!! Integrated analyses of human and mouse tumors revealed immune-regulatory pathways in endothelial and mural cells for therapeutic blockade
Led by the amazing Leire Bejarano.
We explored how the cellular and molecular components of the blood vessels that feed brain metastases of melanoma, lung and breast cancers differ from each other – and those of healthy brain – revealing how they shape the TME to support cancer growth and immune evasion
This research was led by Leire Bejarano, a wonderful and insightful postdoc who is going on the faculty job search in 2024 – she is one to watch!! Huge congratulations to Leire Bejarano and all
Johanna Joyce Lab authors incl., Eleni Lamprou, and our collaborators at CHUV Lausanne and SIB
Our immense gratitude to the patients who selflessly provided precious samples as part of this study Many thanks also to our funders incl. Ludwig Cancer, Université de Lausanne, Swiss National Science Foundation, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and also to EMBO and HFSP.”
