Javier Martin-Broto and Nadia Hindi Presented at ASCO25 Sarcoma Session
Javier Martin-Broto, Sarcoma Medical Oncologist at the University Hospital Jiménez Díaz Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“What are the chances that two colleagues from the same hospital, on the same team, would have two presentations in the same session at the American Society of Clinical Oncology? I’d say maybe one in a thousand. [Not to mention the chance that three members of SELNET would be there… An honor, Bruna].
Yesterday, Nadia and I both appeared in the Rapid Oral Presentations session at the ASCO conference in Chicago. But maybe it’s not such a coincidence. Over the past 10 years, we’ve designed at least 15 clinical trials in the field of sarcoma and recruited more than 520 patients for GEIS trials—three times more than the second-highest recruiting team in Spain. It hasn’t depended on whether the hospital is a CSUR or not, because this is about the synergies created within teams and countless other factors.
This achievement is even more meaningful in a country where there will always be someone skeptical enough to say, ‘Hmm, let’s audit those numbers and see if they’re correct.’
Today, I raise a glass to my team, to David Moura who is always on top of every detail, adding value, and especially to Nadia Hindi, a brilliant oncologist and person, with whom we’ve built many valuable assets in managing sarcoma patients over the last decade in our country. I couldn’t have found anyone better.
I’m also grateful to the preclinical and clinical research teams in sarcoma within our group. And, of course, to every single member of the multidisciplinary sarcoma team at Fundación Jimenez Diaz and the 4H. The professionalism and commitment of every member moves me deeply.”
