Bishoy Morris Faltas: Excited to Present CLONEVO Trial Results at ASCO 2025 Annual Meeting
Bishoy Morris Faltas, Chief Research Officer at the Englander Institute for Precision Medicine and an Associate Professor of Medicine and Cell and Developmental Biology at Weill Cornell Medicine, shared a post on X:
“Beyond excited to present the results of our investigator-initiated CLONEVO trial at ASCO25! Arie Crown Theater on May 31, 2025
Only 4 weeks of pre-op abemaciclib in patients with cisplatin-ineligible MIBC resulted in:
– 31% pathologic downstaging
– Clear on-target activity through low Rb phosphorylation and Ki67. Measured by spatial immune mass cytometry in more than 630,000 single cells from matched pre-/post-abemaciclib tissues
– Serial ctDNA analysis shows tumor fraction reduction was driven by abema, not TURBT
– Tumors with CCND1 amplification are more likely to respond (very cool underlying biology!)
– decreased expression of critical DNA damage proteins TOBP1 and RAD51. Providing rationale for testing sequencing CDK4/6 inhibitors after DNA-damaging therapies, including ADCs, to inhibit cancer cells from repairing double-strand DNA breaks.”
Petros Grivas, Clinical Director of the Genitourinary Cancers Program at the University of Washington and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, shared this post on X, adding:
“Congratulations Bishoy M. Faltas and team for very elegant work!”
