Isabel Mestres: Honoured to Present City Cancer Challenge Model at EU Cancer Mission Fair 2025
Isabel Mestres, CEO of City Cancer Challenge (C/Can), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Yesterday, I took a short break from World Health Assembly to join the first-ever Cancer Mission Fair in Warsaw a fantastic gathering of National Mission Hubs from across Europe, all committed to improving access to cancer care. Organised by ECHoS and the European Commission, the event highlighted the power of collaboration and locally driven solutions.
I was honoured to present the City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) model as an inspiration for the EU Missions, showing how cities can lead community engagement and implement equitable cancer care solutions.
Great to meet Kasia Jurczak and Kay Duggan-Walls from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, excited to keep the conversation going and explore synergies with C/Can.
Thanks to Hugo R. Soares and team for such a well-organised event, to everyone who reached out after my session, and to the inspiring Ebba Hallersjö Hult from Vision Zero Cancer for the great exchange.
Now heading back to Geneva for more vibrant conversations at the WHA78.”
