St. Baldrick’s Foundation Shares Survivor Stephanie’s Brain Tumor Journey
St. Baldrick’s Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A routine eye exam in 2003 changed everything for 11-year-old Stephanie. A brain tumor was found, and she was quickly sent to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for surgery. When the tumor spread to her spine and throughout her brain two years later, she was place on an experimental chemotherapy regimen, partially funded by St. Baldrick’s. She shares, ‘I am literally here today thanks to St. Baldrick’s.’
While the treatment left her legally blind, Stephanie remains unstoppable. Today, she works full-time in a job she loves, bakes and cooks with joy, and makes the most of time with loved ones. Her journey is one of strength, perseverance, and the impact of compassionate care. Help more kids like Stephanie live full, fearless lives.”
Stephanie’s story underscores the life-saving impact of research funded by St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 11, she underwent treatment that left her legally blind but allowed her to live a fulfilling life.
