FDA and HHS announced next steps in Operation Stork Speed for infant formula nutrition standards
U.S. FDA shared a post on X:
“Today, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the FDA announced the next steps in Operation Stork Speed – a groundbreaking initiative to ensure the safety, reliability, and nutritional adequacy of infant formula for American families.
The FDA issued a Request for Information to begin the nutrient review process required by law for infant formula.”

Martin Makary, 27th Commissioner of the U.S. FDA, shared this post on X, adding:
“Protecting our most vulnerable is not just a moral duty-it is our responsibility. For many children, infant formula is their only source of nutrition.
That’s why it’s absolutely crucial to continually assess the nutrition standards and incorporate gold standard science to ensure we are providing the safest, most effective nutrition possible.”
