Jay Mandula: This news is both appalling and disturbing
Jay Mandula, Post Doctoral Scholar at the Ohio State University, shared on LinkedIn:
“As a cancer researcher who just left Florida, this news is both appalling and disturbing. Research can and should include everyone- regardless of nationality or any other demographic factor.
Many scholars from across the globe come to the US due in part to the strength of our research institutions and, for some countries, the limited access to facilities/funding in their home country. Excluding students and researchers based on nationality will only serve to impoverish the intellectual diversity and progress of research efforts in Florida, both in cancer research and across the board in other fields of study.
Florida higher education institutions like the University of South Florida and Moffitt Cancer Center need to stand up for their students, researchers, and faculty and oppose these unacceptable restrictions.”
