Dégi László Csaba: Key conferences leading up to the 4th UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs and Mental Health
Dégi László Csaba, Full Professor at UBB, ECO President, IPOS Secretary, Ombudsman, APSCO President, and FSAS Ph.D. Director, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Had an amazing time last week at key conferences leading up to the 4th UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs and Mental Health. As ECO President, I’m thrilled about the global focus on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like cancer. This is a huge moment to push for better research, treatment quality, and accessible cancer care for all. The European Cancer Organisation is working hard with experts and patient advocates to make quality cancer care a reality for every citizen.
The event was moderated by Allison Carlson, Executive Vice President of Foreign Policy, and featured an impressive gathering of global health leaders including: Shashank Deshpande, Head of Human Pharma at Boehringer Ingelheim; Ramsey Alwin, President and CEO of the National Council on Aging; Katie Dain, CEO of NCD Alliance; Dr. Csaba Dégi, President of the European Cancer Organisation; José Luis Díez Juárez de Figueroa, Counselor at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations for Spain; Dr. Mary-Ann Etiebet, President and CEO of Vital Strategies; Pearson Faulkner, Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission to the UN for Canada; Dr. Wayne A. I. Frederick, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the American Cancer Society; Dr. Renu Garg, Senior Vice President of Cardiovascular Health at Resolve to Save Lives; Ambassador Gianluca Greco, Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission to the UN for Italy; David Halpin, Representative of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease and Forum of International Respiratory Societies; Dr. Michael Hodin, CEO of the Global Coalition on Aging; Samhita Kumar, Senior Associate Director at The Carter Center; Silvana Luciani, Unit Chief of Noncommunicable Diseases at the Pan-American Health Organization; Dr. Jagat Narula, President of the World Heart Federation; Conn O’Neill from Public and Government Affairs at Boehringer Ingelheim; Johanna Ralston, CEO of the World Obesity Foundation; David Reddy, Director General of IFPMA; Leanne Riley, Unit Head for the Noncommunicable Diseases Department at the World Health Organization; James Sale, Deputy CEO of United for Mental Health; Frederic Van Peteghem, First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Belgium to the UN; Andrew Sollinger, Publisher and CEO of Foreign Policy; and Dr. Joseph Vassalotti, Chief Medical Officer of the National Kidney Foundation.”
