St. Jude Research – The Clinical Biomarkers Laboratory helps investigators conduct correlative studies
St. Jude Research posted on X:
“The Clinical Biomarkers Laboratory (CBL) at St. Jude helps investigators conduct correlative studies to make additional discoveries from clinical trial data.
With on-site biomarker testing, findings are faster, personalized and cost-effective.
Giles Robinson, MD, worked with the CBL to extract DNA from FFPE tissue, enabling methylation profiling for over 1,000 samples. This work helped establish a new risk stratification for medulloblastoma patients.
The CBL is also advancing liquid biopsy testing, using blood draws to detect cell-free DNA for cancer detection and treatment monitoring. Ruth Tatevossian, MBBS, PhD, calls this “a new and exciting field in cancer research.'”
