Hendrik Van Poppel about the importance of timely detection of testicular cancer – European Cancer Organisation
European Cancer Organisation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Now in Euronews: Dr. Hendrik Van Poppel, Co-Chair of ECO’s Men and Cancer Inequalities Workstream, talks about the importance of timely detection of testicular cancer.
Testicular cancer affects about one in every 250 men in Europe. Catching these cancers early can improve one’s treatment journey and outcomes. Yet men still deal with taboos around health. ‘There is no self-examination culture’ Van Poppel explains.
The European Cancer Organisation and the European Association of Urology jointly advocate for better cancer care for men under the Men and Cancer Workstream: from improving early detection, tackling gender-specific needs of men dealing with cancer, and advancing clinical and social research.
