Fumiko Ladd Chino: Over 1,200 scientists may leave the US due to disruptions from the Trump administration
Fumiko Ladd Chino, Attending Radiation Oncologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared a post on X:
“The brain drain is real.
> 1,200 scientists who responded to a Nature poll – 3/4 of the total respondents – are considering leaving the US following the disruptions prompted by the Trump administration. Europe and Canada were among the top choices for relocation.
‘As early-career investigators, we don’t have that luxury – this is a critical moment in our careers, and it’s been thrown into turmoil in a matter of weeks.’
75% of US scientists who answered the Nature poll consider leaving.”
