“There have been so many developments over the years in The American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual meeting: Late Breaking Session, smartphone app, onsite perks like nap pods & free professional head shots, roaming mascots, ASH News Daily, social media, and so on.
IMHO the 2 best are:
ASHaPalooza. It’s fun, includes a ton of practical information, connects people, and most importantly lets trainees know they are not just welcome at the annual meeting but signals how much they are valued by the Society.
The other is:
The live and on-demand video. It works! There were multiple times today I was watching 2 sessions simultaneously. Eliminates anxiety about needing to get between distant rooms in a short time, or missing out when you have a critical meeting at same time as a key abstract.”
