ASCO Advocacy, AANS/CNS and 40+ Specialty Groups Raise Concerns Over New NIH Overhead Cost Policy
American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) shared a post on X by AANS/CNS Washington Committee for Neurological Surgery, adding:
“ASCO Advocacy joined the American Association of Neurological Surgeons/Congress of Neurological Surgeons (AANS/CNS DC Office) and 40+ specialty groups in expressing concerns over new NIH policy limiting how much research institutions can be reimbursed for overhead costs.”
Quoting AANS/CNS Washington Committee for Neurological Surgery’s post:
” ‘NIH-funded research has been the cornerstone of U.S. leadership in biomedical science, driving bold discoveries that improve patient care,’ states Alexander Khalessi, NIH’s new policy on indirect cost rates for grants jeopardizes medical innovation.
AANS, CNS and over 40 organisations are urging a collaborative solution.
Jay Bhattacharya, Office of Management and Budget, let’s work together.”
