Nelson Dusetti: The role of FKBP7 as a novel regulator of PSC activation and collagen remodeling in the PDAC
Nelson Dusetti, Head of the Department of Translational Research and Innovative Therapies at CRCM, shared a post on LinkedIn about recent paper by Christophe Quemerais et al., titled “Unveiling FKBP7 as an Early Endoplasmic Reticulum Sentinel in Pancreatic Stellate Cell Activation, Collagen Remodelling and Tumor Progression” published on Science Direct.
Authors: Christophe Quemerais, Christine Jean, Alexia Brunel, Emilie Decaup, Guillaume Labrousse, Hippolyte Audureau, Jérôme Raffenne, Ismahane Belhabib, Jérôme Cros, Aurélie Perraud, Nelson Dusetti, Remy Nicolle, Muriel Mathonnet, Stéphane Pyronnet, Yvan Martineau, Marjorie Fanjul, Corinne Bousquet.
“It has been a privilege to contribute to this work led by Corinne Bousquet’s team, where it was explored the role of FKBP7 as a novel regulator of pancreatic stellate cell (PSC) activation and collagen remodeling in the PDAC tumor microenvironment.
Key findings:
• FKBP7 acts as an early sentinel in the endoplasmic reticulum, modulating the activation of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs).
• Its expression in the pancreatic stroma correlates with better prognosis in PDAC patients.
• FKBP7 regulates collagen composition, helping to restrain tumor progression.
These results provide new insights into how the tumor microenvironment can be targeted to slow pancreatic cancer progression.
Huge thanks to the entire team for this outstanding work.”
