“Today we learned of another death due to untested for DPD deficiency before treatment with fluoropyrimidine chemotherapy. A beautiful 52 year old woman- a preventable death. ASCO and NCCN Guidelines need to change NOW! How many more deaths need to happen before DPYD testing is mandatory in the United States as it is in Europe????????? No more discussing and debating. Just TEST for DPD deficiency before fluoropyrmidine chemotherapy.”
