Françoise Meunier: The Fight Doesn’t End with Survival
Françoise Meunier, Member of the science policy committee at the European Academy of Cancer Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“World Cancer Day: The Fight Doesn’t End with Survival.
Beating cancer is a victory, but for too many survivors, their fight continues due to financial discrimination. Barriers to insurance, loans, and financial stability persist—simply due to their medical history.
This must change. On World Cancer Day, I renew my call for a binding EU-wide Right to Be Forgotten. In our latest publication, Prof. Françoise Tulkens, Dr. Grazia Scocca, and I emphasise why legal protection is not just ethical—it is a necessity grounded in the principles of human dignity, equality, and justice.
Discrimination has no place in a survivor’s future. On World Cancer Day, let’s commit to making equality and reintegration a reality for all.”
