Quoting Egyptian Cancer Society ECS‘s post:

“Proudly, the Egyptian Society for Cancer Diseases participated in an important discussion session with representatives of Arab Oncology Societies and International Organizations, a new Arab Alliance has been signed, including oncology associations from different Arab countries, supported by international organizations and the Federation of Scientific Research Boards of the University of Arab States, to promote scientific cooperation and advance the diagnosis and treatment of oncers.

Goals of the agreement:

– Strengthening scientific cooperation between Arab countries
Developing oncology research, diagnosis and treatment of cancer
– Supporting human capabilities and research infrastructure

Highlights:

– Focusing on the early detection initiatives in the region
– Improving therapeutic services through the exchange of experiences and technology
– Involve the private sector in financing research and provision of advanced medicines

Outstanding efforts:

– Early detection initiatives in Egypt that included more than 22 million women
Saudi programs that provide free checkups and promote healthy lifestyle.
Support scientific research in specialized centers in Jordan and other countries

This came in the framework of the 17th International Conference on Breast Oncology and Women, which was held in Cairo from January 23 to January 24.”
