Andre Lopes Carvalho: I had the incredible opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ZORA
Andre Lopes Carvalho, Deputy Head of Early Detection, Prevention and Infections Branch at International Agency for Research on Cancer at World Health Organization, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Just returned from Slovenia, where I had the incredible opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ZORA, their cervical cancer screening program.
ZORA has been a true pioneer in the field, making a fast and significant impact over the last two decades. What makes ZORA stand out is not just its internal efforts but also its collaborative spirit within the community and stakeholders. Partnerships, awareness campaigns, and community engagement have all contributed to making ZORA a comprehensive and impactful program, positively affecting countless lives.
I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to doc. dr. Urska Ivanus, MD for her exceptional leadership. Under her guidance, ZORA has become a global model for cervical cancer screening programs. Her dedication to advancing women’s health is truly inspiring.
As we celebrate this significant milestone, let’s also look ahead. The work of ZORA is far from over, and the commitment to advancing women’s health remains steadfast. Here’s to the next 20 years of continued success and innovation in the fight against cervical cancer!”
