From Lab to Clinic: The Power of Mentorship in Cancer Research - Train at NCI

“Mentoring is so vital to all our careers, and this conversation explores key aspects of what a good mentor-mentee partnership looks like.

Our guests include one of the 2025 awardees of NCI’s Outstanding Mentor Award, Dr. Andrea Apolo and two fellows who work with her Dr. Saad Atiq and Dr. Andre Kydd.

You really get the sense of how this group works together to care for patients, tackle cancer and also to support and sustain each other’s careers.

And, I learned they have an career milestone for clinical cancer researchers in common – attending the American Association for Cancer Research ASCO/AACR Methods in Clinical Cancer Research Workshop!

Without a doubt one of my favorite conversations!

Check it out wherever you listen, and why not subscribe on your favorite podcast app?”
