Miriam Mutebi: Great start to the year with the AORTIC – Africa North America series

Miriam Mutebi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi, reshared a post on LinkedIn by AORTIC- Africa adding:

“Great start to the year with the AORTIC- Africa North America series emphasizing how sustainable collaborations across Africa and internationally, are driving the need to generate local data, to help improve patient outcomes in Africa.

This session put a spotlight on work in Mali and Nigeria, supported by Northwestern University looking at the intersection between infectious diseases and cancers.

H pylori, HPV, and associations with hepatobiliary cancers and cervical cancers were explored and efforts to build research capacity were highlighted.

Thanks to the excellent overview and work from all the presenters who included Drs Mamadou Maiga, and Professor Lifang Hou among others.

Africa needs more data and collaborations.

Do join this monthly series to connect and engage.

Stay tuned to learn how our team at AORTIC is working with stakeholders to make this a reality.”

Quoting AORTIC- Africa’s post:

“Reminder to Register for today’s North America Webinar Series Part 4 : Infectious Agents and Cancer in West Africa – hosted by Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.”
