Megan-Claire Chase: Navigating cancer as a single person diagnosed under 40
Megan-Claire Chase, Breast Cancer Program Director for SHARE Cancer Support, shared on LinkedIn:
“Here’s one of my favorite pieces that I wrote this year about navigating cancer as a single person diagnosed under 40. I was grateful to include insights from some of my fellow single AYA cancer friends, which added depth and perspective to the piece. A BIG thank you to Patient Power for supporting this important topic!
‘Attending cancer conferences is another challenge. Usually, a keynote speaker or panelist talks about how their family inspired them to keep pushing forward. Have they ever considered the single people in the room and how it can feel alienating and unintentionally hurtful?
It’s not just me. Some of my single and childless AYA friends have felt similarly’.”
