Timothée Olivier: The Breaking-ICE App is Out
Timothée Olivier, Medical oncologist at the Oncology Division of Geneva University, shared a post on X:
“ICE stands for Informative Censoring Exploration, and this app is designed to visually illustrate the impact of informative censoring on trial outcomes.
Adjust parameters and watch as curves and statistical outputs change in real-time. The aim? To demystify informative censoring and turn it from a dry statistical concept into a clear and intuitive idea, helping users understand why this phenomenon, when it occurs, can significantly bias trial results. The App comes with a 4-minute step-by-step video tutorial.
You can explore preloaded trials or perform your own sensitivity analyses by uploading your own data. This project, funded by HUG, and supported by the head of the Oncology Unit, Alfredo Addeo, was inspired by the many works done with Vinay Prasad and Alyson Haslam within the VK Prasad Lab.
Stay tuned for the publication. Thanks.”
