Adam Weiner, Urologic Surgeon at Cedars-Sinai, shared a post on X about a recent article by Ida Sonni et al. with him as co-author, published in the Journal of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging:
“Correlates between PSMA PET and MRI for clinically significant Prostate Cancer.
Our group just published in Journal of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
132 tumors GG>2 from 100 patients who got both PET and MRI prior to prostatectomy.
PET detects more tumors compared to MRI by:
- Lesion (87% v 80%)
- Patient (98% v 94%)
- GG2+ Tumors detected by PET but not by MRI tended to be smaller on pathology.”
Authors: Ida Sonni, Adam Weiner, Sahith Doddipalli, Robert Reiter, Steven Raman et al.
