Olubukola Ayodele: Privileged to present an online talk on breast cancer awareness at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos

Olubukola Ayodele shared a post on LinkedIn:

”I had the incredible privilege of presenting an online talk on breast cancer awareness to the medical and nursing students at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos – my alma mater!

Returning to the place where my journey in medicine began and sharing insights on such a critical topic was humbling and inspiring. I remember being a student in the ‘Old Great Hall,’ listening to those who inspired me. Now, I have the opportunity to be someone whom others look up to. As we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it’s more important than ever to equip the next generation of medical professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to combat this disease.

During the session, we covered:

  • Prevention strategies to reduce risk.
  • The importance of early detection and regular screenings including the need for self-breast examination.
  • Recent therapeutic advancements that are changing the landscape of breast cancer treatment.

The enthusiasm and commitment of the students were truly inspiring. Their dedication to improving healthcare outcomes in Nigeria and beyond gives me great hope for the future.

Thank you to COMPSSA UNILAG and Abdulkhaliq O. Abdulrasaq for the opportunity to give back and to the students for their active participation and thoughtful questions. Together, we can make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.”
