“Excited to share my latest publication in JCO Precision Oncology!
In this piece, I explore a topic close to my heart: the impact of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) on cancer survivors and how it increases their risk of falls. Our research highlights the potential of wearable tech to better track balance and gait issues, giving us more accurate insights compared to traditional self-reports.
However, the work also points to key areas for growth:
We need to involve more diverse patients across age, gender, and cancer types.
Gathering more reliable fall data—not just relying on memory—will improve our findings.
There’s a real need for specific rehab programs tailored to these impairments.
Finally, bringing wearable tech into daily practice won’t be easy, but with the right support, it’s possible.
This research is just one step, but I’m hopeful it can spark new ideas and improve the quality of life for cancer survivors. Thank you to everyone who supports this journey—let’s keep pushing forward!”
