Lung Cancer Policy Network to co-host a workshop at this year’s Asia Conference on Lung Cancer
Lung Cancer Policy Network shared a post on LinkedIn:
“We were delighted to co-host a workshop at this year’s Asia Conference on Lung Cancer in partnership with Asia Pacific Coalition against Lung Cancer.
The workshop brought together over 40 delegates to discuss the shared regional priorities, challenges and opportunities for implementing lung cancer screening programmes.
Our initial takeaways from the event are that a common multidisciplinary voice is needed to advance screening commitments. Secondly, that a step-wise approach to expanding screening activity and availability could be pragmatic across the region.
The diverse health systems and populations that make up Asia Pacific require thoughtful planning of screening programmes. Several locations, such as Taiwan, South Korea and Australia, are leading the way, providing a way forward for others to secure policy commitments and optimise their own programmes.
Look out for our full reflections and next steps in the coming weeks.
Thank you to the APCLC Chair and Network Steering Committee member Herbert Loong, MBBS FRCP FASCO for leading the workshop, and to the delegates who participated. We look forward to strengthening our work with you in future.”
