Alta Vista opens Intensive Care Unit

On October 1st Alta Vista Regional Hospital opened a four-bed intensive care unit.

Alta Vista Regional Hospital started October by responding to many in the community not with words – as one CEO put it – but with actions. The ICU will allow the hospital to provide a higher level of care for those who need it. The goal of having an ICU is to avoid patients being transferred by helping them receive the care they need in Las Vegas.

In another effort to bring quality staff to the hospital, Alta Vista has joined forces with Aligned Providers of New Mexico.

On this onccasion, Mark Lewis shared on X:

“Let’s be honest — it’s seldom pleasant to need an infusion and we should try to make the experience as comfortable for patients as possible So it was progress to open our new treatment center Alta View Hospital, Intermountain Health today!

We look forward to serving Sandy, Draper, and beyond.”

Mark A. Lewis is the Director of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Intermountain Healthcare in Utah, the Co-Chair of adolescent and young adult (AYA) oncology in the SWOG cooperative group, and the Vice President of American Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Support. Dr. Lewis is also a well-known patient advocate and social media influencer. His interests are neuroendocrine tumors and cancer syndromes.
