“Importance of obesity and diet in cancer 3 recent studies:
1) Visceral adiposity index (VAI) -> all-cause cancer, uterine, gallbladder, kidney, liver, colorectal, breast cancer. ACS Journal Cancer.
2) 40% higher risk of pancreatic cancer in patients with prediabetes than those with normal blood glucose. Pancreas Online.
3) Higher dietary quality – reduced risk of moderate-severe ChT-induced peripheral neuropathy in adjuvant treatment of colon cancer. ACS Journal Cancer.”
Erman Akkus is a medical oncology fellow at the Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine. Previously, he was an Internal Medicine Resident at the Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine. He was also a Visiting Researcher at the University of Oslo. He completed his education from the Medical University of Vienna.
