Highlights from the 43rd ESSO

The 43rd ESSO  took a place from October 2 to October 4, 2024, in Antwerp, Belgium.

The European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) is a professional organization established in 1981. Its primary mission is to advance the science and practice of cancer surgery for the benefit of patients through education, research, and innovation. The society aims to unify the surgical oncology community and advocate for the importance of surgical oncology in cancer treatment.

ESSO organizes Europe’s largest annual congress in surgical oncology, bringing together over 4,000 members from various disciplines. This annual event is a significant gathering for professionals in the field of surgical oncology, focusing on innovation and education.

This year’s program focuses on Innovation and Education in Surgical Oncology. Particular emphasis is given to trending technologies in treating cancer, such as AI, fluorescence-guided surgery, and robotic surgery.

Encounters with old friends and some new ones in European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) Young Surgeons and Alumni Club (EYSAC) are always a great opportunity for fun, but also for a lot of quality brainstorming, since we have a lot of work to do during the congress and many engagements within the ESSO43 Scientific program that is diverse and inclusive, especially for the young ESSO members. Here, our voice can be heard!

We have started strong, and are already making plans for interesting collaborations worldwide, under the auspices of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO).

Join us from October 2-4th in Antwerp and enjoy interesting symposia, debates and meet-the-expert sessions that Scientific Committee has prepared for this year!

Some tips if you’re first time attending ESSO congress:

Make sure to also visit our ESSO booth and EYSAC booth, because we have prepared some new and interesting contents for our members.

Use the opportunity to officially join ESSO and EYSAC.
