The First Friday Microbiome Seminar – UNC Microbiome Core
UNC Microbiome Core shared on X:
“Join us for the First Friday Microbiome Seminar on Oct. 4 (Fri.) at 12 PM in Marsico 2004.
Pizza will be served. We have two incredible speakers lined up to share their exciting microbiome research. Don’t miss out!
Dr. Aimin Peng, professor from UNC-CH Adams School Of Dentistry. Dr. Peng’s research focuses on oral cancer and DNA repair mechanisms. His work has made significant strides in understanding cell cycle regulation and the DNA damage response (DDR), key pathways connected to cancer progression.
Our trainee speaker is Laura, a PhD student in Dr. Michel Bagnat’s lab at Duke. She investigates how a specialized group of intestinal cells, lysosome-rich enterocytes (LREs), interact with the gut microbiome to influence nutrient absorption.”
