Dr. Tatiana M. Prowell is an Associate Professor of Oncology in the Division of Women’s Malignancies at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and serves as the Breast Cancer Scientific Liaison to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). She played a pivotal role in shaping the FDA’s policy on accelerated approval, utilizing pathological complete response as a novel regulatory endpoint for neoadjuvant high-risk breast cancer. Additionally, Dr. Prowell was a member of the Biden Cancer Moonshot Blue Ribbon Panel Cancer Immunology Working Group.
An esteemed public speaker, Dr. Prowell has been recognized with the FDA’s Excellence in Communication Award three times. She is also a past finalist for the Giants of Cancer Care Award and the recipient of the 2019 John and Samuel Bard Medal in Science or Medicine, as well as a 2020 Webby Special Achievement Award for her impactful use of social media during the pandemic. As a dedicated medical educator and mentor, she chaired the 2020 ASCO Annual Meeting Education Committee.
