Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu: Mobilizing Communities for Increased Demand Toward Cervical Cancer Elimination
Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu shared a post on LinkedIn:
“On Monday, September 16th, just ahead of the UICC World Cancer Congress, I had the honor of serving as a panelist at a World Health Organization meeting on the Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative, held at the European UN Headquarters.
The session, titled “Together in Action: Turning Commitments into Reality – Mobilizing Communities for Increased Demand Toward Cervical Cancer Elimination,”* provided a vital platform for discussing how we can increase access to cancer screening and treatment, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
It was an opportunity to share experiences and strategies for mobilizing communities to make cervical cancer elimination a reality.
Later, at WHO HQ in Geneva, I joined a co-creation session to develop a cancer policy document informed by the real-life experiences of patients and survivors. This inclusive approach is essential to designing effective solutions.
I am proud to be part of this global effort to improve the lives of cancer patients. Through collaboration and partnerships, we can truly make a difference.”
