Sean Lybrand, Executive Director at Amgen, shared on LinkedIn:
“Last week Darryl Sleep, MD (MBBCh, FCS(SA)) and I were very pleased to accompany our collaborating partners City Cancer Challenge and Direct Relief to Paraguay to visit sites involved in the Readiness for Access to Cancer Medicines program. These include the National Cancer Institute (INCAN), Hospital Materno Infsntil San Pablo, Hospital de Clinicas – Universidad Nacional de Asuncion and Hospital Nacional de Itaugua.
We also formally met with the Minister of Health, Dra. Maria Teresa Baran where C/Can presented the progress of the program and renew their MoU.
Sites have made remarkable progress in terms of pathology management/ flow and sample storage, electronic record keeping, safe preparation of medicines. Progress towards storage, distribution and administration of medicines for people with breast cancer is a also feature of the program, now being implemented.
Many thanks to Beatriz Hornburg Maria F Navarro Rosa González León Stephanie Shahini Carolina Rojas Dr Juan Carlos Alvarenga Tom Roane Erick Molina for the collaboration and progress in Asuncion!”
