Oscar Arrieta: Our study demonstrated that increased perilesional edema from brain metastases from NSCLC is a negative predictor of response to radiation therapy, short intracranial-PFS, and even worse OS.

Quoting Oscar Arrieta, Head of the Thoracic Oncology Unit at The National Cancer Institute of Mexico, on X/Twitter:

“Our study demonstrated that increased perilesional edema (PE) from brain metastases (BM) from Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer is a negative predictor of response to radiation therapy, short intracranial-PFS, and even worse OS. The PE should be evaluated to be integrated into the BM prognostic scales.”
