Aparna Raj Parikh: Such a privilege to be a part of the US-India Cancer Dialogue
In June 2023, President Biden and Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed the robust health partnership between the United States and India by announcing new commitments to accelerate the fight against cancer. This includes the establishment of a U.S.-India Cancer Dialogue to enhance the prevention, early detection, and treatment of cancer.
The U.S.-India Cancer Moonshot Dialogue aims to boost cooperation and collaboration in areas such as AI-enabled innovation for cancer care, novel therapeutics including vaccines, immunotherapy, and other biologicals, cost-effective and equitable cancer therapy, implementation science, cancer genomics and precision medicine.
Aparna Raj Parikh spoke about her participation in this dialogue:

Aparna Raj Parikh is a GI oncologist, at Massachusetts General Hospital and associate professor at the Harvard Medical School. She has a long-standing background and interest in global health, having spent time in several African countries, Haiti and India.
Most recently, at MGH, she co-founded and co-leads a program called POETIC (Program for Enhanced Training in Cancer (POETIC)). This fellowship exchange program, conducted in collaboration with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Cancer Center and Lowell Schnipper, MD, trains clinical oncology fellows from the University of Cape Town in South Africa and Ocean Road Cancer Center in Tanzania. She is a member of the OncoDaily Editorial Board.
