“Today I had the pleasure of speaking at U Chicago Cancer Center’s 10th Annual Summer Research Symposium. This terrific event brought together trainees from the center’s Pathway Programs, along with their support networks—family, research mentors, and stakeholders.
It was inspiring to connect with students and alumni from EYES on Cancer (a NCI Cancer Health Equity funded YES program) and other programs from the center that provide cancer research training to high school and undergraduate students. These bright young minds are the future of cancer research!”
I also met with leaders, faculty, and trainees at U Chicago Cancer Center and The University of Chicago to learn about the important research and care they provide in Chicago. Many thanks to Senator Dick Durbin for joining us and for his continued leadership in support of Cancer Research!
