Karen Knudsen: Approximately 65% of Americans are behind on cancer screenings
Karen Knudsen, Executive Strategic Advisor and Immediate Past CEO of ACS, shared a recent article by Daniel S. Reuland on LinkedIn:
“When approximately 65% of Americans are behind on cancer screenings—every win matters.
We all know that early detection of colorectal cancer is one of the most effective ways to improve outcomes and save lives. Yet, the real challenge isn’t always awareness—it’s accessibility.
Barriers like complicated processes, inconvenience, or cost often prevent individuals from getting screened. Loving this study, which shows that if you send cancer screenings directly to people’s homes and make them free, they’re three times more likely to complete the task.
Imagine the possibilities to build on this model because every person screened is a life potentially saved.”
