Mark Lewis: I had always viewed the thymus as maddeningly vestigial
A Twitter post written by Mark Lewis, Director of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Intermountain Healthcare, stated:
“Fascinating. I had always viewed the thymus as maddeningly vestigial given that a thymic neuroendocrine tumor ultimately killed my father in his late 40s and I had assumed it was a needless organ after ~30 but this study gives me pause and second thoughts.”
